This year, Nyx Hemera Technologies is marking the day by sponsoring Phase 2 of the Sea the Plastic expedition. This expedition, carried out by a couple of young Belgians who crossed the Atlantic, from Brussels to Quebec via the Caribbean, has 3 objectives:
- To take samples of microplastics in the ocean which will be analyzed by a Swiss laboratory in order to establish a database available to researchers worldwide.
- To raise awareness of ocean pollution through social networks, a film and conferences.
- To surpass oneself as an individual and as a sailor.
Nyx Hemera Technologies is proud to sponsor the expedition for its return to Belgium, which this time will sail north. Leaving Quebec, the ship will head for Greenland, then Iceland, returning via the North Sea, where very few samples have been taken so far.
