A NEW TLACS-A IS BEING COMMISSIONED THIS WEEK AT THE NORTH CAMBRIDGE BUS FACILITY

As part of an ongoing project, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is modernizing its ten bus maintenance facilities in Boston and the surrounding area for the introduction of electric buses. The goal is to install modern, energy-efficient lighting systems to improve illumination, reduce maintenance and energy costs, and support decarbonization.

This week, the North Cambridge Bus Facility—a bus maintenance and storage site currently undergoing upgrades—is next in line to receive these improvements. The TLACS-A solution now controls and monitors all outdoor luminaires, including those above the charging station that automatically light up when a bus arrives to recharge.
