Nyx Hemera Technologies’ TLACS is now installed and operational in the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) tunnel in Singapore. The MCE is a 3.5-km 10-lane underwater tunnel lighted with over 8,500 luminaires.
The TLACS controls each light individually, allowing optimal lighting scenarios from a driver’s standpoint as well as efficient energy management. In addition because the TLACS continuously provides crucial information on luminaires’ status, tunnel operator is able to determine luminaire lifetime and create preventive maintenance programs. The end result: operators does not only significantly decrease the number of interventions in the tunnel but also substantially reduce overall operational costs
The control of the MCE tunnel lighting was integrated in the dedicated SCADA system, also developed by Nyx Hemera Technologies, already controlling the Kalang Paya Lebar Expressway lighted with 16 000 luminaire. With this new installation, TLACS now controls a total of almost 25 000 luminaire individually.
“For NYX HEMERA TECHNOLOGIES this installation is quite an accomplishment. We provided Land Transportation Authority of Singapore with a stable system, good training and complete documents in order for them to be able to self-operate the system locally. This installation allows Nyx Hemera to strengthen its position in tunnel lighting controls and to deploy its expansion plan throughout the world” explained Mr. Longtin.
