DESCRIPTION:<\/b><\/p>

Reporting to the Senior Writer, you will perform tasks related to the creation of technical content for the company.<\/p>

You will work closely with sales and marketing, service, technical support and project engineering groups to write, edit, update, format and publish technical documents for the company’s customers, including project manuals, installation manuals, user manuals, standard training, customised training, data sheets, standard operating procedures, job aids, reference sheets, user interfaces and more.<\/p>

MAIN TASKS:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Analyze specifications, technical notes, drawings, system architecture, and design documents<\/p><\/li>

  • Translate complex concepts into clear guidelines<\/p><\/li>

  • Document user interfaces using mock-ups or test beds<\/p><\/li>

  • Support senior editor in all aspects of technical content development<\/p><\/li>

  • Internal resource for linguistic and editorial issues<\/p><\/li>

  • Support document structure by placing files in appropriate locations and providing ideas to improve existing practices as needed<\/p><\/li>

  • Keep technical documentation up to date with new developments<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: <\/strong><\/p>

    • Analyze project requirements to formulate compliant proposals;<\/p><\/li>

    • Deliver designs to production in accordance with established requirements;<\/p><\/li>

    • Provide technical support before, during and after system delivery, both remotely and on-site.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

        • Fluency in written English (common spelling, grammatical spelling, syntax, typography, punctuation, vocabulary)<\/p><\/li>

        • Fluency in spoken French<\/p><\/li>

        • University degree in a related discipline (electrical engineering, industrial engineering, communications, translation with a technical and\/or technological profile, computer science)<\/p><\/li>

        • 5 to 10 years’ relevant experience in technical writing or equivalent in a technical and\/or technological context<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

          STRENGTHS:<\/strong><\/p>

          • Knowledge of software or electrical engineering, and control systems<\/p><\/li>

          • Membership of a professional association is an asset<\/p><\/li><\/ul>
