I-90 FENWAY CENTER UNDERDECK, BOSTON, MA
The I-90 Fenway Center underdeck is one of the tunnels and connections that are part of the Boston’s Big Dig project. The project involved replacing the elevated Central Artery (I-93) with an underground highway, as well as building the Ted Williams Tunnel and the I-90 tunnel. The aim was to improve traffic flow and reconnect the neighborhoods of Audubon Circle, Kenmore Square, Fenway Park, the Yawkey Station transit hub, and the Lansdowne Entertainment District.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has once again chosen TLACS as the optimal lighting control solution. This solution reduces energy use by 25–55%, improves safety for users and extends the lifespan of the lights.
The TLACS smart lighting control system has already been installed in several other Boston tunnels, including the Prudential Tunnel, the Tip O’Neill Tunnel, the Sumner Tunnel, and Parcel 12 of the I-90.
