CAROLINE IS IN TAMPA THIS WEEK ATTENDING THE SPRING MEETING OF THE ILLUMINATING ENGINEERING SOCIETY, ROADWAY LIGHTING COMMITTEE

This committee’s mission is to develop and update standards and recommendations for roadway and outdoor lighting. Its work includes:

• Establishing lighting standards
  • Improving road safety (including tunnels and underpasses)
  • Providing design recommendations
  • Promoting energy efficiency and sustainability
  • Keeping standards up to date with the latest scientific       advances

In short, the IES Roadway Lighting Committee ensures that roadways are lit safely, efficiently, and comfortably for all users, based on research and engineering best practices.
