MBTA NORTH CAMBRIDGE BUS FACILITY, MA

As part of an ongoing project, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is modernizing its ten bus maintenance facilities in Boston and the surrounding area for the introduction of electric buses. The goal is to install modern, energy-efficient lighting systems to improve illumination, reduce maintenance and energy costs, and support decarbonization.

The North Cambridge Bus Facility—a bus maintenance and storage site has recently undergone improvements. The TLACS-A solution now controls and monitors all outdoor luminaires, including those above the charging station that automatically light up when a bus arrives to recharge.

Designed specifically for external areas, the TLACS-A lighting control system is operating perfectly.

Characteristics:

  • A total of 120 luminaires equipped with LPC TWIST NEMA Twist 7 pin socket on the luminaires layout as follow:
    • Lighting poles with various quantities of lighting fixtures per pole
    • 1 LPC Twist controller per luminaire fixture and-or per pole forindividual control
  • One main electrical room on first floor of main building
  • 4 lighting zones
