The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), wanting to develop a plan that minimizes traffic and public safety issues, upgraded lighting in 2 tunnels and 11 underpasses in Region 1 of the state. As a result of its energy efficiency program, the retrofit contract was awarded to Ameresco, which selected Nyx Hemera Technologies’ TLACS-EM and TLACS-U powerline lighting control solutions. The use of a uniform system in all tunnels and underpasses will simplify the maintenance and operation of the system by the operator. This project is expected to result in a 50% energy savings with the installation of TLACS and new LED fixtures.
