Queens Midtown Tunnel between Queens and Manhattan, NY.

The Queens Midtown Tunnel is a 2 km tunnel connecting Queens and Manhattan in New York City. Repairs were needed following Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The use of powerline communication technology in TLACS made the installation of the new lighting system in the tunnel quick and easy. This technology has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in savings by reducing the purchase of wiring, conduit and connectors, since the control of the fixtures is done through the existing electrical supply wires.
