ANOTHER NYX HEMERA TECHNOLOGIES TLACS FACILITY IN THE BOSTON AREA

Nyx Hemera Technologies’ technical team is commissioning the TLACS lighting control system in an initial section of the Ted Williams Tunnel in Boston this week.

The lighting in the Ted Williams Tunnel was replaced with LED lighting controlled by TLACS, Nyx’s powerline lighting control system. Tunnel administrators will realize an estimated $1.2 million in energy and maintenance savings per year, as well as improved driving conditions.

Opened in 1995, the Ted Williams Tunnel carries drivers along Interstate 90 east and west through Boston Harbor. The lighting upgrade will be phased over two years, with a portion of the tunnel’s lights being replaced at a time. At the end of the project, Nyx Hemera Technologies’ TLACS will control more than 3,000 luminaires in this tunnel.
