GATLINGBURG TUNNEL REHABILITATION IN THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK IN TENNESSEE

Nyx Hemera Technologies is commissioning its TLACS-U+ integrated power line lighting control system in the Gatlinburg tunnel this week.

This tunnel rehabilitation project includes the replacement of the lighting control system with the Nyx’s TLACS-U+. In addition to the standard TLACS-U components, Nyx has integrated the automatic transfer switch, main electrical panel, emergency electrical panel and uninterruptible power supply system.

Because this tunnel is located in a remote area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the climate-controlled kiosk was painted in accordance with the park requirements.

Finally, because the Tennessee Department of Transportation does not have a network in the park, a cellular link was installed to remotely control and monitor the lighting system from the operations center.

This is another example of how the Nyx Hemera Technologies team can customize it’ssolutions to meet their customer needs.
