THOMAS P. O’NEILL TUNNEL – BOSTON

Our technical team has completed the commissioning of the new intelligent lighting control system in Boston’s  Thomas P. O’Neill Tunnel.

Commonly known as Tip O’Neill, this 1.5 mile-long tunnel is now equipped with over 2,000 LED luminaires, all managed by the Nyx Intelligent Lighting Control System (TLACS).

The tunnel is a highway tunnel built as part of the Big Dig, taking the Central Artery underneath downtown Boston and Interstate 93, U. Route 1 and Route 3.

This tunnel is named after Tip O’Neill, former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.

This long tunnel handles more than 245,000 cars every day.
