BEAVERTAIL MOUNTAIN TUNNEL IN COLORADO
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) undertook a new lighting project in the I-70 Beavertail Mountain Tunnel in the northwest region of Mesa County. Built in 1989, the tunnel was in need of repair and lighting replacement.
Nyx-Hemera’s TLACS-EM smart city lighting control solution was installed. A total of 426 luminaires were replaced with 418 LED luminaires. The upgraded LED lighting uses less energy and provides better visibility through the tunnel for drivers.
