A MAJOR LIGHTING SYSTEM UPGRADE AT THE SEA-TAC AIRPORT TUNNEL IN SEATTLE!

The South 188th Street tunnel, which connects Des Moines Memorial Drive South and International Blvd, is an important access point to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) runways.

The 1.67-mile road tunnel, which was originally constructed around 1960, has recently been updated. Significant improvements have been made to its lighting, life safety, and ventilation systems.

The focus last week and this week was on the lighting system. The upgrade involved replacing the original lighting with 526 new LED luminaires and incorporating the TLACS-EM smart lighting control system to improve visibility and enhance energy efficiency.

Nyx’s lighting specialist, Gerrit, is on-site to ensure the new lighting system performed perfectly! This is the 14th project of the year to be commissioned, and we are very proud of it!
