ADDISON AIRPORT TUNNEL, TX
The Addison Airport tunnel is an east–west connection linking the Dallas North Tollway to I-35E, running beneath the Addison Airport runway. It is a two-lane tunnel approximately 1300 feet long. Operating since February 1999, it carries a daily traffic volume exceeding 10,000 vehicles.
The tunnel’s TLACS-EM smart lighting control system is equipped with two LCAM (photometers) that measure ambient light levels at each portal. These measurements are used to determine, in real time, the recommended lighting levels in accordance with the IES RP-08 standard. It should be noted that the TLACS-EM solution also includes a dedicated SCADA interface for monitoring and controlling the lighting system.
A photometric survey was conducted to verify that the lighting system complies with ANSI/IES LM-71-14 and RP-8-22 standards.
